Corkscrew Swamp — the Anhinga airing his/her wings

I set up on the boardwalk, in a corner of a viewing platform as out of the way of other visitors as possible. The anhinga spent all of its time either under water fishing, or on the stump airing out the wings to dry. Must find out why wings need drying if one is only going to dive back in the water.
